7° River Film Festival : regulations

From 28th May to 9th June 2013 Padova -Italy

1. The 7th River Film Festival is an international festival of shorts (fiction and animations) and documentaries that will be held in Padova (Italy) from 28th May to 9th June 2013. The Festival is organized by the Associazione Culturale Researching Movie and is sponsored by the Comune di Padova Assessorato alla Cultura (Padua City Council and City Council Cultural Office). There is no charge for participating in the festival. In order to qualify for participation the films entered must have been made in 2012 – 2013. Shorts must not be more than 30 minutes long, extreme short must not be more than 5 minutes and documentaries must be no more than 60 minutes. The jury will award prizes for:

Best short
Best extreme short
Best local short
Best documentary
Best animation
Best graduation short (Film schools)

Films sent for screening must be in DVD or Blue Ray format. Films will be selected by an independent committee, nominated by the Associazione Culturale Researching Movie, whose judgement will be final. The catalogue listing the films selected will be published on or soon after the 15th April 2013 on the Festival website:

2.The Application form to enter the competition is on the Festival website. It should be filled in and sent in online (a maximum of three entries per director). A copy of this application should also be printed off and sent together with a DVD or Blue Ray format copy of the film to the address below. Entries must arrive on or before 30th March 2013.

3. The owners of the winning films must deposit a DVD or Blue Ray copy of the film in the Archives of the Associazione Culturale Researching Movies. This will only be used for study purposes. Permission will be requested from those who hold the rights to the film should it be required for any other usage.

4. Shipping and insurance costs for viewing copies are entirely the responsibility of the sender, as are any other costs incurred such as Customs duties etc. Films that are not selected will not be returned unless they are specifically asked for, and the return postage costs covered by the sender. All DVD or Blue Rays sent from outside Italy should be accompanied by a declaration saying: “for temporary use; only for cultural purposes, no commercial value”side Italy should be accompanied by a declaration saying: “for temporary use; only for cultural purposes, no commercial value”

5. No film once selected can be withdrawn from the programme.

6. Winning films must mention the prize awarded whenever shown.

7. Entry for the Festival implies unconditional acceptance of the published regulations. Should any dispute arise, the festival organisers will have the right of final decision on all that is not specified in the Regulations. Should controversies arise, the Padova Law Courts are competent to deal with any litigation.
